The 'Around The World' video features five characters representing a vinyl record: the robots walking ina circle; four tall athletes wearing tracksuits; four women dressed like synchornized dancers moving up and down a set of stairs and  four skeletons in the centre of the platform with four mummies.

 

This a visual representation of  the song, each group represents an instrument. The robots represnts the singing voice; the athletets with the prostetic heads reprensent the ascending and descending bass guitar; the synchronized dancers symbolize the high pitch keyboards; the skeletons dance to guitar line an dthe mummies represent the drum machine.

 

The sequence was developed by Gondry and then the was futher expanded by a choreographer named  Blanca Li. ' Around The World' was Gondry's first attempt of bringin oranzied dancing in his music videos.
